About the game

Turbo Lap is a pocket-sized racer seen from above. Your car accelerates on its own, so all you do is steer: point where you want to go and the car swings toward it. Every race takes place on a brand-new twisty circuit with curbs, tire walls and a grandstand, so you never learn a track by heart.

Throw the car sideways through sharp corners and the drift meter fills up while skid marks and sparks fly. Tap TURBO to burn it all on a burst of speed, ideally right as you exit a bend. Cars bump each other, so a well-timed nudge can push a rival onto the slow grass.

A race is three laps of about half a minute each. Take on one to three computer drivers on three difficulty levels, or race a friend on the same screen with a split view and optional bots.

How to play

  1. Your car speeds up by itself. Steer: drag toward where you want to go, or use ← → / A D.
  2. Turn sharply at speed to drift. Drifting fills the TURBO meter.
  3. Tap TURBO (Space) for a speed burst. Best used on the way out of a corner.
  4. Grass slows you down. Finish 3 laps first to win.

Controls

Computer
← → or A D to steer, Space for TURBO, ↓ or S to brake. You can also steer toward the mouse and click for TURBO. Two players: A D + Space and ← → + Enter.
Phone & tablet
Drag anywhere toward the direction you want to drive and tap the TURBO button. Two players: each uses one half of the screen.

Questions

Do I need to press the gas?

No. Cars accelerate on their own, so you only steer and decide when to use the turbo. On a keyboard you can brake with ↓ or S if you want to.

How do I fill the turbo?

Turn hard while going fast. The car slides, leaves skid marks and the meter fills. Tap TURBO to spend the whole meter: a fuller meter gives a longer burst.

Can two people race on one device?

Yes. Pick "2 Players": the screen splits in two and each player gets a view that follows their own car. You can add up to two bots as well.

Is the track always the same?

No. Every race builds a new closed circuit with its own corners and S-bends, always checked to be wide and drivable.
