About the game

Dig Dare mixes classic Minesweeper with a game of nerve. Sixty-four blocks of dirt hide ten bombs and eighteen gems worth one, two or three points. On your turn you dig one block at a time. Every gem you find drops into your bag, but nothing in the bag counts until you bank it.

So the question is always the same: one more block, or bank now? Hit a bomb and the whole bag is gone. Empty blocks show how many bombs are hidden around them, just like in Minesweeper, and those clues help everyone. Every bomb that goes off stays on the board, so the next player digs a little more safely.

The game ends when the last gem is dug up, and the most banked points wins. Matches take two or three minutes. Play against computer opponents at three levels, or pass one phone around with up to four friends.

How to play

  1. On your turn, dig blocks one at a time. Gems (1, 2 or 3 points) go into your bag.
  2. Numbers show how many bombs touch that block. Use them to dig safely.
  3. Press BANK to keep your bag and end your turn. Hit a bomb and you lose the bag.
  4. Gems often come in veins. When the last gem is dug up, the most banked points wins.

Questions

How is Dig Dare different from Minesweeper?

You are not trying to clear the board. You are racing other players for gems, and you decide how far to push your luck before banking. A bomb only costs you your current bag and your turn.

Can I play Dig Dare with friends?

Yes. Choose "Same Device" and pass the phone, tablet or computer around. Two to four people can play.

What happens if time runs out?

Each turn lasts 30 seconds. When the timer runs out, your bag is banked automatically.

Is Dig Dare free?

Yes. It runs in your browser on desktop and mobile with no download or sign-up.
